Volunteer

Join us in our mission to get the nation cooking!

We have a growing and friendly community of volunteers who work alongside our chefs to transform lives through food. Collaboration powers our work and our volunteers really make things tick.

Our volunteer programme is recruiting now and open to all. We value volunteers with varied backgrounds, skills and experiences.  There are lots of ways to get involved. Whether it’s rolling up your sleeves in the teaching kitchen, welcoming guests at our community cook-alongs or using your camera skills to capture the moment, we’ll find the right role for you.

Current Roles

We are recruiting volunteers to support our chefs on our six week Home Cookery Courses from January. Make it your New Year’s Resolution to join our team in the New Year and inspire your community to find confidence and joy in the kitchen!

Play an important role in helping our chef deliver the course to a group of adult learners. You will help with prep, cooking, clear-up and creating a space for our participants to learn, be inspired and have fun.

While we value volunteers who can sign up to regular slots to really get to know our team and each other, we always have one-off events needing extra support too. We’ll ensure your volunteer placement is both practical and rewarding for you.

Cegin y Bobl currently delivers workshops and events in the Carmarthenshire area, with our teaching hub based in Llanelli.

There are lots of things to get stuck into at Cegin y Bobl, it all depends on your interests, skills and how much time you have to give.  We have a busy schedule of activities, including children’s cookery courses in schools, food bank community cook-alongs, early years workshops and community feasts. We will fill you in on all the options and match you to a role that suits you.

A full induction process including food hygiene and safeguarding training will be provided. We’ll discuss your goals for volunteering, and how we can help you achieve them. We have a dedicated volunteer coordinator offering guidance and support.

No! While we always need volunteers to support our practical courses, we welcome those less comfortable in the kitchen too. Skills in admin, fundraising, translation or equipment maintenance? We’d love to hear from you.

Our volunteer programme is funded by Welsh Government’s Volunteering Wales Main Grants Scheme, administered by WCVA.
